The 12-credit Post-Master's Certificate in Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Nursing provides MS-prepared nurse practitioners with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions across the life span. This blended format program combines on-campus didactic, on-line teaching, laboratory, and clinical practicum learning experiences. Those who complete the certificate and additional clinical hour requirements are eligible to sit for the National Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Certification Examination.
Applications to this certificate should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions office with MS and BS transcripts.
Application for Admission
- Completion of Certificate application form indicating application to Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Nursing Program with official transcript submitted to Graduate Admissions
- Goal statement submitted to Graduate Admissions
- Three letters of reference
- Interview by nursing graduate faculty member
- License to practice as a *registered nurse
- GREs are NOT required
Acceptance for admission is contingent upon review of documents and recommendations of faculty interviewers and the Director of the Master's Program.

- Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Nursing I (3 credits)
- Advanced Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Nursing II (3 credits)
- Advanced Musculoskeletal Conditions I Practicum (3 credits)
- Advanced Musculoskeletal Conditions II Practicum (3 credits)
