Meg A. Bond, Ph.D., is Emerit Distinguished university professor of psychology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML). During her tenure at UML, she served as the founding director of the Center for Women and Work and the inaugural director of the Office for Faculty Equity. She has also been a Resident Scholar at the Brandeis University Women's Studies Research Center.
Bond's scholarship has focused on how organizations and communities can create inclusive environments that foster participation, equity, and empowerment among diverse groups. Her research and publications have addressed topics including sexual harassment, workplace diversity, collaboration across differences, and organizational transformation to support women and other underrepresented groups. Her book, Workplace Chemistry: Promoting Diversity through Organizational Change (University Press of New England, 2007), chronicles a long-term organizational change initiative focused on gender and race/ethnicity. More recently, her work has examined diversity-related workplace dynamics in community health centers and institutional transformation to advance equity for women in STEM fields. She served as director and co-principal investigator of the NSF-funded Women Academics Valued and Engaged in STEM (WAVES) initiative and has taught courses in community psychology, workplace diversity, and interpersonal dynamics.
A leader in community psychology and applied social science, Bond served as president of the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA), Division 27 of the American Psychological Association, and received two of the organization's highest career honors: the Special Contributions Award and the Ethnic Minority Mentoring Award. She has also served as chair of the American Psychological Association Committee on Women, a member of the APA Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest, and a member of the executive committee of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). In recognition of her expertise on workplace equity and harassment prevention, she was appointed to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Select Task Force on Workplace Harassment.
Bond is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, SCRA, SPSSI, and the Society for the Psychology of Women. She co-edited the two-volume Handbook of Community Psychology and has served on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Community Psychology and Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy. She continues to contribute to national efforts to advance equity and prevent harassment in higher education through her involvement with the National Academies Action Collaborative on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in Higher Education.
Throughout her career, Bond has combined scholarship, mentoring, and institutional leadership to advance more equitable and inclusive workplaces, universities, and communities.

Research Currently in Progress
Bond's current work focuses on organizational cultures that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging. Her recent research has examined workplace microaggressions, bystander interventions, organizational climate, subtle gender bias in academic settings, and strategies for institutional transformation in higher education. She remains actively engaged in national efforts to prevent harassment and advance equity through collaborations with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and through ongoing scholarship on diversity-embracing organizations and inclusive research cultures.
Her broader scholarly contributions have centered on understanding how organizational and community contexts can foster empowerment, participation, and social change across differences of gender, race, ethnicity, and other dimensions of diversity.
