Biosketch
Associate Dean of Undergraduate Affairs Terri A. Camesano is also a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Rochester. She continued her studies with a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Terri was a faculty member at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) for over two decades, and served as the dean of graduate studies at WPI for 12 years, the university's inaugural full-time graduate dean. Her research focuses on bacterial adhesion mechanisms and protecting biomaterials from colonization, as well as various aspects of engineering education. In addition, she has been a Fulbright Scholar (2018 France), National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award recipient (2003), Principal Investigator (PI) of an NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) grant (2011), the developer of an international exchange program for chemical engineering undergraduates, and an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow (2022-2023).
