Co-op placement
I worked at ASMPT Nexx from July 2022 - January 2023 as an ECD Process Engineering Co-op. ASMPT is a company that worked in the semi-conductor field, which is an ever-growing high-tech field that requires the knowledge of chemical engineers among many other fields.
Best parts of doing a co-op
Working as a Co-op at ASMPT allowed me to explore a field that interested me and will hopefully set the groundwork for a future career in the semiconductor or related industries. This experience gave me a better idea of what working in an engineering company looked like, as well as allowed me to apply the knowledge I learned in the classroom.
Career connections
The Co-op program at UMass Lowell has allowed me to jumpstart my career and make connections in a very innovative and competitive industry and the experience will open up more doors after graduation.
