Co-op placement

I worked at Pfizer, Inc. in Andover, MA, from July 2021 – January 2022 for my first co-op and July 2022 – January 2023 for my second co-op. I was in the Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities Department for both co-ops, but worked on different teams. For the first cycle, I was an Infrastructure Asset Management Co-Op and worked on various projects that helped support critical utilities sitewide. For the second cycle, I was a Process and Production Engineering Co-Op and helped support one of the many manufacturing suites on site.

Best parts of doing a co-op

I learned so many technical and soft skills throughout my time on co-op. I was able to apply what I learned in the classroom to real scenarios in the industry, and vice versa when taking classes again. I also learned so many things about myself that have helped me grow and improve my work. Other than the experience I gained, I would say the best part of doing a co-op is being able to figure out the industry and field I would like to pursue after graduation.

Career connections

The connections and networking skills I gained from these co-op experiences have provided me with many opportunities to get to know a diverse group of people working at the site. As a result, one of the connections I made has provided me with a part-time opportunity to work for another manufacturing suite on site and learn more about the industry and company.
