Weston & Sampson, a 100% employee-owned company, has partnered with clients for more than 125 years on infrastructure design and construction, environmental services, and climate resiliency and sustainability planning. A valued partner of UMass Lowell, the firm has worked closely with the university’s Rist Institute for Sustainability to address energy, climate and sustainability challenges in Massachusetts, Florida and along the eastern seaboard.
Through this collaboration, the Rist Institute serves as a dynamic space for academic, public and private partners to develop practical solutions to complex environmental issues. Weston & Sampson is also a partner in the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor (LINC), with offices on campus that further strengthen opportunities for collaboration, innovation and workforce development.
Weston & Sampson’s internship and co-op programs provide UMass Lowell students with hands-on experience in infrastructure design, environmental remediation, geotechnical engineering, climate science and sustainability. These opportunities help prepare students for meaningful careers and often lead to full-time employment after graduation. Most recently, Weston & Sampson joined UMass Lowell’s Rist Institute and Florida Gulf Coast University in the Critical Infrastructure & Resilient Communities Summit.
