Biosketch
Throughout her 40-year career, Lisa Brothers has distinguished herself as a business and engineering leader who aligns values and vision to advance organizational growth.
As the CEO and president of Nitsch Engineering from 2011 to 2024, Brothers was responsible for the firm’s growth strategy, strategic direction and overall performance. She retired as the firm’s chair in March 2026.
A strong sense of community and a desire to give back have been hallmarks of Brothers’ career. From her involvement with professional associations and community organizations to her enduring support for UMass Lowell, she has set an example of what engaged leadership looks like.
A double River Hawk, Brothers earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and an MBA from UMass Lowell.
She has returned to campus frequently to speak with students and serves on the Chancellor’s Advisory Board and Shah Leadership Academy Advisory Board. She is a board member of two private companies.
Brothers has been recognized with numerous professional awards, including the 2025 Norman B. Leventhal/Edwin N. Sidman Real Estate and Building Industry Leadership Award; as the United Way of Massachusetts Bay 2025 Real Estate Honoree; the American Council of Engineering Companies 2024 National Distinguished Engineer Award; and as Ernst & Young’s 2014 New England Regional Entrepreneur of the Year.
