The Centers for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS) serves students across the university with tutoring, advising support, and testing accommodations. CLASS would not be able to support all of these students without our wonderful student employees. These peer leaders include office administrators, peer advisors, and peer tutors.
Specifically, professional staff will be looking for exceptional student leaders who have established a strong commitment to the department and demonstrated the following traits:
- Professionalism
- Initiative
- Leadership
- Collaboration
- Growth
- Positional Effectiveness
Each month, CLASS staff deliberate and select a few distinguished peer leaders to be acknowledged for their contributions. Those peer leaders are awarded with the distinction of "Peer Leader of the Month."

Emma Nguyen and Vivian Nguyen, Peer Tutors - North Campus
Emma and Vivi are two of our most senior Organic Chemistry tutors. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter, but they are incredibly helpful in organizing our Organic Chemistry tutoring center. Emma and Vivi both help ensure their fellow tutors know about center expectations, help facilitate use of overflow rooms, and keep us informed of general trends in the tutoring center. Their proactive support has helped lead to improvements over time including opening up our space, supplying the center with more seating, and ensuring supplies are always widely available.
Dang Vu, Office Administrator - North Campus
Dang has been a front desk team member since Fall 2024 when he was a first-year student. This is his third semester working with us. Dang is VERY reliable. He is always on time and never misses a shift. He is always volunteering to complete different tasks in the office. Dang is very attentive to the students who come to the office. He makes sure everyone gets what they need in a friendly manner. Thanks for all you do Dang!

Carter Creesy, Lead Peer Tutor – North Campus
As Lead Peer Tutor, Carter has elevated accounting tutoring through strong collaboration with faculty and an engaging, student-centered approach. Selected as one of only two Lead Peer Tutors following his New England Peer Tutoring Association (NEPTA) conference presentation, Carter brings both deep subject knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm that inspires students and peers alike. Even while beginning a full-time public accounting role, he continues to lead North Campus tutoring and recently excelled in facilitating our peer educator training’s famous faculty panel segment, sharing insights that resonated with both students and professors. His dedication and authenticity make him an outstanding leader in our program.
Cecilia Eluszkiewicz, Lead Peer Tutor – South Campus
Cecilia has been a Peer Tutor for the Centers for Learning for years, and now post graduation, has accepted the role as Lead Tutor for our South Campus location. Cecilia has created a strong following over her years in the Centers, and has been an integral part of our College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) trainings each semester. Cecilia's positive energy is contagious, and her peers recognize her leadership in the position. This year, while balancing graduate work and her role as Peer Tutor, Cecilia accepted the role as Lead Tutor, and we're excited to have her on board to further advance our tutoring department, and the tutoring service provided to our students.
