Authorized Access
The use of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) and related facilities is intended for the students, faculty, and staff of UMass Lowell (UML). The CRC is a controlled access facility. Authorized users include full-time undergraduate and graduate students, full-time faculty and staff, adjunct faculty, part-time staff, and matriculated part-time and continuing education students.
UML alumni, or immediate family members 18 years and older living in the same house as UML alumni, students, or faculty and staff are eligible to purchase a CRC Membership. Anyone from the general public 55 years and older is eligible to purchase a CRC Master’s membership. Approved affiliate groups of UML are eligible to purchase a CRC membership.
Only authorized users, guests of authorized users, and approved groups are allowed to enter the facility. Authorized users must have a valid UML UCARD or pay the appropriate guest fee to enter the CRC or related facilities or participate in related programs as determined by Campus Recreation.

False representation of identification or sharing your identification (ID) is strictly prohibited.
- Sharing a UCARD/CRC membership ID card or facilitating a guest’s unauthorized access into any Campus Recreation facilities or programs will result in immediate dismissal of the patron from the CRC and related facilities.
- Authorized student users found to have shared their UCARD will be referred to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities to be adjudicated through the student conduct process. All paid CRC members who share their membership ID may have their membership privileges suspended or revoked, pending a review of the incident by the Director of Campus Recreation. Authorized faculty and staff users found to have shared their UCARD will be referred to UML Human Resources in accordance with appropriate collective bargaining agreements
Guest Policies guest
- CRC authorized users are allowed to host up to two (2) guests per visit.
- Guests must be at least 18 years or older to sign a liability waiver to enter the facility.
- Guests must provide a valid photo ID to verify they are 18 years or older. Acceptable forms of identification include a government-issued license, state ID, or passport.
- The host is responsible for orientating all guests on facility policies and procedures and will be held accountable for their guests’ actions, including any damages.
- Any guest who intentionally damages property or violates facility policies can have their privileges revoked immediately.
- Guests may participate in informal activities only; they cannot register for any student-only recreation programs.
Guest Information
- The fee for student guests is $10 per guest and the fee for all faculty / staff / CRC member guests is $20 per guest.
- We will keep the host and guest(s) ID's at our desk until they exit facility.
- The host must accompany their guest(s) at all times.
- When the host exits the facility, the guest must also leave.
- Guest can re-enter facility same day with their host and copy of guest fee receipt.
- Guest fees can be paid with credit card (no checks).
- Guests may not check out equipment.
