The UMass Lowell Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities promotes a campus environment that supports the individual's academic and co-curricular pursuits and which contributes to meeting the community's educational goals and objectives. This goal is achieved through an educational process designed to foster the personal, social and cognitive development of students and by supporting the rights and responsibilities of all students. The Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities is committed to caring for the student, treating students equitably and making ethical decisions.

The university has a Student Conduct Code and Conduct Process that governs the behavior of our students to allow for a safe community conducive to learning. Students are responsible for adhering to all campus policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws. The Campus Conduct Code also extends to off-campus situations.

Students who reside in campus housing are required to observe all rules and regulations outlined in the Student Conduct Code, as well as the Residence Life Guidelines. All students should familiarize themselves with the Student Conduct Code.
