New England Regional Student Program

New England Residents May Be Eligible for Reduced Tuition

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

NERSP costs are less than out-of-state costs. Visit The Solution Center for specific information regarding tuition and fees. NERSP-Qualifying Programs are those not offered on public campuses in a student’s home state.

Also known as the Tuition Break, NERSP is coordinated by the New England Board of Higher Education. At UMass Lowell, many of the qualifying programs are nationally recognized.

The details:

  • No additional application is required, but you must indicate your interest in NERSP on the application.
  • You must enroll in a qualified degree program and meet regular admissions criteria.
  • You will be notified by the UMass Lowell Admissions Office if you are granted NERSP status.
  • Students accepted into NERSP are still eligible to apply for financial aid through other sources.

See all NERSP-qualifying undergraduate programs available at UMass Lowell.

For NERSP-qualifying graduate programs, please contact graduate admissions at 978-934-2390 or email Graduate_Admissions@uml.edu.

BEGINNING FALL 2019

UMass Lowell will offer New England Regional Student Program (NERSP) tuition breaks to all New England residents enrolled in any full-time undergraduate degree program. Check the new guidelines to see if you qualify.
