Digication ePortfolio Project

UMass Lowell provides faculty and students access to Digication, a powerful ePortfolio tool for learning and assessment.  For the past three years, we have invited groups of senior students to take part in focus groups and create portfolios that reflect on the learning they have done in relation to the Core Curriculum ELOs, both in and out of the classroom.  These rich, narrative ePortfolios include examples of students’ work, which they curate to help the reader understand what conditions helped them learn, and what learning experiences made a lasting impact on them.  Teams of faculty, staff, and students assess the demonstrations of learning and discuss the implications and insights taken from the students’ accounts and from the evidence of their work.
Faculty or departments interested in using an ePortfolio for a curriculum, course or project are welcome to contact Paula_Haines@uml.edu for help with planning and design.
