- Brief introduction about who you are, your role, and your academic focus:
I am a second time Team Leader for RHSA, helping create events, processes and mentorship for first generation students. My academic focus is in Human Resources, specifically recruiting, career development and project execution/ management. - Favorite hobbies: I like to hang out with my cats and watch my favorite reality TV shows.
- What is your favorite thing about UMass Lowell (UML)?
I love UML because of the community and support all around me. - Why did you choose to attend UMass Lowell?
Close to home. - What are your future academic and/or career goals?
I want to be in HR and continue to help students grow both personally and professionally. - What has being involved with the River Hawk Scholars Academy meant to you?
It means everything to me as my Peer Leader during my freshman year made a huge difference. If it wasn't for her, I believe I would have dropped out. - What inspires you to support RHSA and/or first-generation students?
First Gen students are so resilient but also deserve support. I love spending time with like minded individuals and sharing my story to hopefully motivate others. - Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of college?
Take some deep breaths and take things day by day. Worrying about the future will do you no good. - What advice would you give to fellow UMass Lowell students?
Be kind to everyone, you never know who is going to be your support system in the future. - What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college student?
It means that I have grit, confidence and a strong will to succeed. - What inspires you to want to help first-generation students in the RHSA?
The community itself and how many opportunities there are out there for us.
