I am Dania, a Peer Leader with the River Hawk Scholars Academy. I am a first-generation college student. I am a double major here at UMass Lowell, studying Psychology and Criminal Justice. - Favorite hobbies: Reading, watching shows, Traveling, Baking, listening to music.
- What are your future academic and/or career goals?
My future goals are to graduate and become a lawyer to help my community. - What has being involved with the River Hawk Scholars Academy meant to you?
It has meant a lot, it has provided me with support when sometimes I didn't know I needed. RHSA has helped me build a community as well. - What inspires you to support RHSA and/or first-generation students?
The kindness and support that I was given when I enrolled at UML made me want to offer that to other students who are also going through similar experiences. - What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college student?
To be a first-generation college student means I'm creating a new path for myself to accomplish dreams that my parents felt were impossible for them.
