Campus Advocates for Prevention Education (CAPE) logo

Campus Advocates for Prevention Education (CAPE) Peer Educators are trained peers who provide education and awareness around mental health, substance use and sexual violence prevention. They facilitate workshops, host events, and share information through social media and in-person office hours. Students can make individual appointments with our CAPE peer educators to receive support, information and resources tailored to their needs. Email: cape@uml.edu for more information or to make an appointment.

What does CAPE aim to do?

  • Create conversations
  • Provide information and awareness to help reduce stigma
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment to empower students
  • Encourage positive mental wellbeing and healthy behaviors and habits

Who Are The CAPEs?

Members of CAPE are students just like you who are navigating school, relationships, work and life's challenges. They are trained to support their peers' mental health and wellbeing and promote a safe campus. Whether you need support for your mental health, want to learn more about substance use, or want to know how to respond to or prevent sexual violence, the CAPEs can be the first line of support to get you where you need to be.
