Core Research Facilities

Please review all the COVID-19 research announcements including information about temporary office closures.

If requested by sponsors or collaborators, the Office of Research and Innovation has prepared a Statement Regarding the Temporary Closure of the Office of Research Administration.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent state advisories from the Governor, all research activities on campus are suspended with the exception of pre-approved critical equipment maintenance, animal care and COVID-19 responsive activities.

As such, the Office of Research and Innovation has prepared a statement to provide to sponsors and collaborators if requested: Statement Regarding Suspension of UMass Lowell On-campus Research in Response to COVID-19

In addition, UMass Lowell is working with the state’s Advanced Manufacturing Emergency Response Team and will be directing people to further information as we marshal all of our capabilities to support this coordinated effort. If you are interested in helping and have either expertise or equipment that may be useful, please complete the online survey.

Learn more about internal grants for COVID-19 responsive research, and review a list of select external funding opportunities and resources.

Please also carefully review the research FAQ which is continuously updated on the Guidance for Campus Research in response to COVID-19 webpage.

Thank you for your cooperation as we all work through these challenges together. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email:
