Change in Support for Blackboard/LMS
Blackboard support for face to face courses will transition to the IT Department beginning in January 2017. A pilot for face to face "day school" courses during fall 2016 is the first step in this transition. The pilot group, consisting of approximately 20 faculty and 1,500 students, will provide feedback to expand the use of tools to meet the needs of "day school" students.
Online courses will continue to be supported by the Division of Online and Continuing Education. A number of face-to-face courses will be supported by DOCE during the fall 2016 semester.
Blackboard Learn is the official Learning Management System (LMS) for the University of Massachusetts. The LMS provides faculty with a robust platform for teaching web-enhanced, blended and fully online courses.
Blackboard Learn provides the following functionality:
- Robust Grade Center
- Online Course Content Repository
- Online Assessments & Assignments
