UMass Lowell's Energy Management mission is to cost-effectively manage energy resources to support the university's commitment to excellence and innovation while minimizing associated environmental impacts.

The Energy Operations team, in coordination with Capital Planning, Sustainability, and the Campus Community, works to collaboratively design, operate, and maintain energy systems and processes that meet or exceed energy management goals for the University.

Since the beginning of the Energy Management program in 2005, UMass Lowell has experienced tremendous growth in both campus size and campus community. During this same time, the Facilities Department has implemented an array of energy management projects and solutions to help reduce the campus’s overall energy use.
