Undergraduate Programs in Music

We offer four distinctive, highly creative and forward-thinking undergraduate majors.

*Students may pursue a combined bachelor's and master's degree program that leads to teaching certification.

All students must pass and audition on their instrument or voice to finalize admission to a major in the Department of Music and any of the music major programs. Students in the performance specialization are also required to demonstrate outstanding ability as performers in order to satisfy admission and retention standards. Applied music study (private lessons) and performance is central to developing and maintaining musical skills.

Bachelor of Music in Music Studies with the Master of Music Education

The Department also offers a five-year dual degree program combining the Bachelor of Music in Music Studies with the Master of Music Education. This program leads to initial teacher licensure.
