Research Interests
My research focuses on international and comparative education. I study academic freedom globally, historically, and comparatively by exploring the cultural, political, economic, and historical influences on variation in academic freedom. My research interests also include the internationalization of higher education, education and soft power, and the strategic uses for educational systems. I'm currently researching the political realities and challenges facing the internationalization of higher education.
