Research Interests

Dr. Wong's research interests lie in chemical reaction engineering, chemical kinetics, catalysis, and kinetic modeling. The main focus areas include macromolecule pyrolysis and gasification, production of sustainable value-added chemicals and fuels, and analysis of complex reaction systems.

Biography

Dr. Wong joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell as an assistant professor in 2014. His research focuses on both experimental and computational methods to unravel complex reaction systems in energy and environmental applications, particularly the production of sustainable value-added chemicals and fuels. Before joining the faculty at UMass Lowell, Dr. Wong was a principal engineer at Aerodyne Research, Inc. and served as Principal Investigator for several federally funded, multi-institutional projects. Dr. Wong earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University and was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT.
