Alumni representing the Chemical Engineering Department embody the success of this outstanding academic program. There are many ways that chemical engineering alumni can remain involved with the department, such as by acting as mentors to current students, collaborating in research efforts, or helping to raise money for needed projects. Others return to obtain advanced degrees and many graduates continue to utilize the University's job search services.

Specifically, alumni are involved with the department through its Industrial Advisory Board, which is used to provide feedback on the department mission, program objectives and outcomes and to give recommendations for program improvement. Periodically, alumni are guest lecturers for courses in their area of expertise. They provide Coop and full-time job opportunities for students. Alumni also provide donations to the department, which are used as a source of funds for undergraduate scholarships, for scholarly activities and for general department needs.
