After more than $1 million worth of renovations, this state-of-the-art venue is home to UMass Lowell Rowing and the UMass Lowell UMass Lowell Summer Kayak Center. Additionally, this facility can host family gatherings, birthday parties, weddings and corporate outings that can include National Park boat tours of the river, canals and other private functions. Other tenants in the boathouse include Lowell High School Rowing and the Merrimack River Rowing Association.

Kayak Center

The summer Kayak Center offers educational and recreational kayaking opportunities to the UMass Lowell community and greater public. At the Kayak Center you can rent kayaks, canoes or stand up paddle boards and we provide instructional courses for adults and children of all skill levels. The rental area is limited to the 2,000-square-foot deck overlooking the river. Special permission may be granted for excursion boats to land on the docks to drop off or pick up passengers.
