All of our TAP Peer Allies are UML students who transferred from other colleges and universities. So they all know what it is like to navigate a new college environment. They have learned their way around and are eager to help new transfers get connected and find the resources that are helpful. When you opt to be assigned an ally, you gain a "go to" person you can rely on.

Spring 2024

Liam Reidy

Liam Reidy

I’m Liam Reidy, a Computer Science Major with a focus in Cybersecurity. I transferred from Middlesex Community College for the Spring 2023 semester, and I’ve loved my time at Lowell ever since. A fun fact about me is that I’m the founder and president of the university’s K-pop club (KPC), where we have dance teams and hold workshops for dancers of all skill levels. If you’re thinking about requesting a TAP mentor, you should do it! We are here to help from a judgement-free perspective, so you’ll already have someone you know on your first day of classes. My favorite place on campus is the Asian American Center for Excellence & Engagement (AACEE) in Cumnock Hall (North Campus). They have a room for studying and hanging out, and they hold all sorts of helpful workshops like how to budget, memory tricks, and so much more.
Nicole Head Shot

Nicole Karp

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Karp and I am currently a junior business administration major concentrating in international business and marketing. I transferred to UML from Quinsigamond Community College where I received my associate degree in business administration. I chose UML because of the amazing transfer program as well as the ability to concentrate on international business. I love partaking in clubs on campus, surrounding myself with amazing friends, and working out at the campus rec center. I hope to pursue a master's in international business following my graduation from UML next spring!
Sergio Head Shot

Sergio Rodgriquez

I am originally from Monterrey NL, Mexico, and I moved to the United States in 2010. A shoulder injury and subsequent rehabilitation led me to realize my passion for helping others through physical therapy. Following a life-changing 500-mile walk on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, I embarked on my journey to become a physical therapist. I began my journey in 2019, enrolling at NECC as an associate in Exercise Science. To further my education, I transferred to Umass Lowell in the fall of 2022, pursuing a major in Exercise Science Clinical Option with the goal of eventually acquiring a doctorate in physical therapy. In my leisure time, I enjoy playing video games and practicing martial arts. I have achieved a black belt in tae kwon do and I am currently a brown belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
Sierra & Her Mother

Sierra Goodwin

Hi all! My name is Sierra, and I am a senior here at the University, studying Public Health in the Health Sciences track. I transferred to UML from Northern Essex Community College in 2022, where I received my associate degree in Exercise Science after two years. I hope to be graduating from the current undergraduate program this winter, and begin my professional career in Public Health Policy, while studying for my MPH here in Lowell. Pictured with me is my mom, who is my biggest cheerleader!

Favorite spot on campus: On top of the hill at the Allen House, overlooking the river! Bonus points if the Adirondack chairs are out and it's sunny!
