The Office of Student & Family Support Services is excited to share our full slate of parent and family engagement programs offered throughout the summer, designed to support incoming River Hawk families as they prepare for their transition to UMass Lowell.

If you’re working with incoming students or their families, please feel free to share these opportunities with them.

Our summer programming spans the entire season and is designed around three core areas:

  • Family Orientation – Sessions designed to welcome families and provide essential information for supporting their student. Sessions are offered both in-person and virtually.
  • Family Hawk Talks – Virtual programs covering important campus resources and topics. Family Hawk Talks occur weekly throughout the entire summer.
  • Get to Know Lowell Series – In-person opportunities for families to explore Lowell and connect with the UMass Lowell community.

We would also like to invite faculty and staff to join us for the Get to Know Lowell Series as a way to meet and engage with families. This summer’s events include:

  • Ice Cream Meet & Greet + Lowell Spinners Game – June 20
  • Lowell Folk Festival Visit – July 25
  • Taste the Acre Food Tour – August 8
  • Lowell Canal Tour – Date TBD (pending seasonal schedule release)

If you’re interested in attending any of these events, please email Marshall_Greenleaf@uml.edu.

Additionally, we are always happy to collaborate with campus partners to help involve families and share important information and updates from your office. If you’re interested in partnering with us, please reach out to connect.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting our students and their families. We hope to see you this summer!
