Welcome to UMass Lowell Family Orientation!

We are excited to have you and your family join us as your student begins their journey at UMass Lowell. Our Family Orientation program is designed to provide parents and family members with the tools, resources and support needed to help your student succeed.

Who should attend Family Orientation?

Family Orientation is designed for parents, family members, and supporters of incoming UMass Lowell students. Students will attend their own separate Student Orientation.

What is the cost to attend?

The registration fee is $40 per person. This fee supports the operating costs of the program.

We understand that the cost of Orientation may be a concern for some families. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, you may be eligible for a fee waiver and can apply for a waiver using the Family Orientation Fee Waiver Online Application.

Can I change my Orientation date after registering?

Yes! If you need to reschedule, please contact us by email at: Family@uml.edu and we'll be happy to assist you.

Your student does not need to attend Family Orientation with you. Family Orientation is geared towards parents and family members of incoming students, but not the students themselves. Some parents and family members may not feel comfortable discussing certain topics around their own or other students. We want everyone to be able to get their questions and concerns answered in an open environment.
