Summer 2024 Family Orientation

Family Orientation is a great way to meet staff, students, and other families! Throughout your Family Orientation day you'll learn more about the tools, resources, and opportunities available to your student and how to support your student as they transition to UMass Lowell!

Each session begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The registration cost is $40 per person, which supports the overall cost and operations of the Family Orientation program.

Family Orientation is offered on the following dates:

  • June 7, 11, 21
  • July 9, 16, 26
  • August 3 (Saturday), 9 (Virtual), 13, 16

A fee waiver is available for families experiencing financial hardship. To request a fee waiver, please complete the Fee Waiver Request Form.

Please note that your UMass Lowell student will need to register and attend a student orientation session and does not need to attend family orientation.

Orientation for Your UMass Lowell Student

For more information on student orientation sessions, please visit the first-year student orientation webpage or the transfer student orientation webpage.

Your student does not need to attend Family Orientation with you. Family Orientation is geared towards parents and family members of incoming students, but not the students themselves. Some parents and family members may not feel comfortable discussing certain topics around their own or other students. We want everyone to be able to get their questions and concerns answered in an open environment.
