Biosketch

Shadmaan Siddiqui is a doctoral student in finance at the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His research focuses on retirement planning, fixed income markets, corporate governance and behavioral aspects of financial decision-making, with particular emphasis on municipal bond pricing and portfolio performance. Prior to beginning his Ph.D., Shadmaan built over seven years of professional experience in banking and financial services across the United States and Bangladesh. Most recently, he worked at Fidelity Investments, where he advised clients on retirement planning and conducted detailed fixed income analysis, including U.S. Treasuries, municipal bonds and corporate debt instruments. Earlier in his career, he held roles at several leading commercial banks in Bangladesh, including Mutual Trust Bank Limited, where he managed large corporate credit portfolios and contributed to major financing initiatives. Shadmaan holds a Master of Arts in Analytical Economics from the University of New Hampshire, where he developed strong quantitative and data analysis skills using tools such as R, SPSS, and Power BI. His academic and professional background informs his research interest in bridging financial theory with real-world applications in investment management and financial markets.
