Jennifer Nicoloro is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Biomedical and Nutritional Science Department and serves as the undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science program director. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science from UMass Lowell. Jennifer is a board-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and has a decade of work experience in the clinical laboratory. Her graduate research focused on the role of fabric in the spread pathogenic microbes implicated in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Specifically, she evaluated the contamination rates of healthcare worker uniforms with HAI-causing microbes, as well as investigated the efficacy of a novel antimicrobial fabric. Jennifer earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology from UMass Lowell in 2018. Concurrent with her graduate work, she taught a variety microbiology and MLS-specific courses at UMass Lowell and Middlesex Community College, Lowell MA.
