Membership
Faculty Senate membership is determined by department elections each March as outlined in the by-laws. Senators are elected to serve a two-year term. By senate vote, the start date (previously May 1) has transitioned to September 1, and the end date (previously April 30) is now August 31.
- Senate 2025-2026 began on May 1, 2025 and will conclude on August 31, 2026.
- Senate 2026-2027 will begin on September 1, 2026 and conclude on August 31, 2027.
- Senate 2027-2028 will begin on September 1, 2027 and conclude on August 31, 2028.
Terms
- Senators with a 2026 term end will conclude their term on August 31, 2026.
- Senators with a 2027 term end will conclude their term on August 31, 2027.
- Senators with a 2028 term end will conclude their term on August 31, 2028.
Department Elections
- Departments will elect senators by the third Friday of March each academic year.
- Newly elected senators may attend the April and May meetings to onboard with the departing senators.
- The new senate will begin on September 1.
Officer Elections
- Nominations for Officers will open on April 1 and close on the third Monday in April. Send nominations to Kerry Patenaude at Kerry_Patenaude@uml.edu
- Officers will be elected at the May meeting of Faculty Senate.
Committee Elections
- Nominations for Committee Members will open on April 1 and close on the third Monday in April. Send nominations to Kerry Patenaude at Kerry_Patenaude@uml.edu
- Committee Members will be elected by each college at the May meeting of Faculty Senate.
