Students must earn a B or better in each course used to satisfy an honors requirement.
Declaring Honors with More than 30 Earned Credits
Students who enter the Honors College with 30 or more credits already earned may waive the H1. Students who enter the Honors College with 60 or more credits already earned may waive the H1 and H2.
Any deviation from the requirements as noted requires an Honors Petition for Exception to be filed with the Honors College Dean.
Sections of courses that are dedicated for honors students are noted with a section number that begins with “3,” e.g. PHYS.4170 - 301 or HIST.3932 - 301. Non-honors students may register for these sections only with instructor permission.
Honors-By-Contract is an agreement between an honors student, an instructor, and the Honors College whereby the student agrees to take on additional, honors-level work as it pertains to the class. Honors students will only receive honors credit for an honors-by-contract at the 3000 or 4000 level.
