Professional Research Opportunities to Prepare for Engineering and Life Sciences (PROPEL)

These paid internships enable high school students to work on active UML research projects gaining valuable technical, laboratory and problem-solving skills.

Art and Design Pre-College Portfolio Program

This two-week campus-based program is designed for high school students who want to create portfolio pieces required to advance to college/university art programs. Lunch and art supplies are provided.

The Calculus Project (TCP)  

This free program helps middle and high school students build math proficiency while enjoying peer group work and a taste of college life on UMass Lowell’s campus.

Engineering Pathways Inspiring Curiosity (EPIC)

Interested high schools can partner with UMass Lowell’s Francis College of Engineering to provide a weeklong, hands-on STEM learning experience for their students. 

Understanding Power, Resisting Injustice Summer Experience (UPRISE) 

Learn to become an effective agent for social change during this 3-week on campus while earning 3 college credits.

Research Academics and Mentoring Program (RAMP) 

During this 6-week program you’ll earn college credits while strengthening skills and knowledge in programming, project design, technical writing, communications and teamwork.

Delivered in two six-week sessions, this college readiness opportunity enables you to earn up to 6 credits, so you can get a jumpstart on your academic journey.

Digital Media Seminar

This 3-week credit-bearing workshop emphasizes cinematic storytelling and camera artistry. Fast-paced and hands-on, you’ll train with professional Blackmagic cameras, lenses, lighting and sound equipment.

Music at UML: Symphonic Band Camp

Each July, grade 8-12 student musicians may enroll in a one-week immersive, residential, honors band camp. Led by university conductors, professional coaches and collegiate mentors, student rehearse and perform in concert band, jazz bands, ensembles, electives and more. (For brass, woodwind, percussion, bass). 

Common Voice Chorus Camp

This weeklong day camp for aspiring vocalists features workshops, rehearsals, and classes led by renowned choral directors and music educators.
