What is your favorite thing about UML?
I love how easy it is to get involved on campus and meet so many people.
What are your future goals?
I hope to go to med school after I graduate from undergrad and eventually do my residency in Boston!
What has being involved with the RHSA meant to you?
It means that I was able to succeed not only in my first year of college, but also receive a lot of support through my 4 years here at UML.
Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of college?
I would tell her to be more open about trying new things and get involved!
What advice would you give fellow students?
I would tell other students to get to know their professors and start making connections early.
Why did you choose to attend UMass Lowell?
I chose to come to UML because I really liked the biology department.
What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college student?
To me being first gen means that we are the first in our family to graduate college and being able to repay my parents for the support and love they gave me.
What inspires you to want to help first-generation students in the RHSA?
I had an amazing peer leader my freshmen year of college and she made me want to pass on the support and encouragement she gave me. I wouldn’t be where I am now without her, so I hope to help other students the way she helped me.
