What is your favorite thing about UML?
My favorite thing about UML is that there are endless opportunities to take advantage of.
What are your future goals?
One of my future goals after graduation is to move abroad.
What has being involved with the RHSA meant to you?
Being involved in RHSA has been incredibly beneficial to me through my first years at UML. I was fully prepared to take on my first day of freshman year thanks to the RHSA First to Launch program. I made some of my first friends at college through the program and have received the best advice and guidance from peer leaders and the RHSA staff.
Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of college?
If I had to give advice to myself in my first year of college, I would tell myself how beneficial a calendar can be to your life. Life gets crazy and organization is key in college. Google calendar has become my best friend and keeps me on track to be successful in school.
What advice would you give fellow students?
Don’t be afraid and get involved! I believe there is truly something for everyone at UML all it takes is for you to try it out.
Why did you choose to attend UMass Lowell?
I chose to attend UMass Lowell because of the affordability and size of the university. I wanted the feeling of attending a big university and not knowing everyone in my classes but also wanted the affordability of a university I could commute to.
What does it mean to you to be a first-generation college student?
To be a first-generation college student is a privilege to me. My parents work extremely hard to support my sisters and I so we would have the opportunity to pursue higher education. I am grateful that college was an option.
What inspires you to want to help first-generation students in the RHSA?
The incredible support I have received from the RHSA staff and student leaders inspires me to help other first-generation students. I want other first-generation students to feel the support I have had the past two years of college.
