The River Hawk Scholars Academy First to Launch Summer Program provides incoming first-year, first-generation students at UMass Lowell with a six-week experience that will enable them to transition to college in a supportive environment and empower them to achieve success.
First to Launch Scholarships will cover either the tuition cost of one 3-credit summer course taken through the Launch! College-Specific Program up to the cost of $675 or a $350 scholarship to be applied towards your fall tuition bill. Students who complete this application form are applying for both a spot in the First to Launch Program and a First to Launch Scholarship.
Students who receive a First to Launch Scholarship will agree to the following activities to occur July 12-August 16, 2024.
- Participate in the full First to Launch Summer Program, which includes:
- Six weekly Tuesday 20-minute check-in meetings with an assigned peer mentor scheduled at your mutual convenience.
- Six weekly First to Launch Friday workshops 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on campus (July 12, 19, 26, 28 and August 2, 9, and 16)
