The university welcomes all visitors and prospective students to the campus. Please ensure arrangements are made for parking prior to your arrival, depending on which campus you are visiting or the occasion. Due to our limited parking inventory and to better serve visitors to the university, reserved visitor parking is not available to current faculty, staff, students or long-term vendors/visitors/volunteers.

Admissions Visitors

Campus tours and admissions guests can arrange parking through the offices of Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions.

North Campus Visitors

Effective fall 2021, the Cumnock Lot is no longer a reserved visitor lot.  For north campus visitors the UCAPS office provides the following options in recommended order:

  1. Request reserved parking in the Salem Lot at University Crossing.  This option will ensure a guaranteed parking space for your visitor.
  2. Request a guest code for the Pawtucket Lot on East Campus.  This option will allow your guest to park in any of the 46 metered parking spaces and waive the parking cost.  We recommend this option before the Standish Lot due to its larger capacity.
  3. Request a guest code for the Standish Lot on North Campus.  While this option is closer than the Pawtucket Lot for north campus, this lot is often full and may require your guest to travel to East Campus regardless if no spaces are available.
  4. Request a visitor hang tag for the Riverside Lot A or B parking lots.  Please note that this option requires several business day preparation to ensure your guest has their hang tag before using the lot.  Upon arrival the intercom at the gate can be used for entry.

Hosts of visitors may reserve parking by e-mail request to UCAPS@uml.edu or by calling 978-934-2800. Please provide us the visitor's name or company, arrival time, and departure time.  If a guest code is being request, the host will be provided a code to be used for complimentary parking during the visit for the visitor. The provided code can be entered into the kiosk in the lot.

Unplanned visits or hourly parking for the UMass Lowell community is available at the posted hourly rates posted at the pay station, and is payable by coin, bills, or credit cards.

University Crossing Visitors

Metered parking lot for short-term parking (2 hours maximum) is located on Pawtucket Street across from University Crossing. Reserved visitor parking is available in the Salem Street Lot on Salem Street. Visitors or hosts of visitors may reserve parking by e-mail request to UCAPS@uml.edu or by calling 978-934-2800. Please provide us the visitor's name or company, arrival time, and departure time.

If no parking is available in the Salem Street Lot, the Parking Ambassador at the lot will provide visitors with a hang tag and direct them where to park.

South Campus Visitors

Visitor parking is available in the Wilder Metered Lot, located at the intersection of Wilder Street and Bachelder Street, for both visitors and members of the UMass Lowell community. The entrance to the lot is located on Bachelder Street.

Hosts of visitors may reserve parking by e-mail request to UCAPS@uml.edu or by calling 978-934-2800. The host will be provided a code to be used for complimentary parking during the visit for the visitor. The provided code can be entered into the kiosk in the lot. Please provide us the visitor's name or company, arrival time, and departure time.

Unplanned visits or hourly parking for the UMass Lowell community is available at the hourly rates posted at the pay station, and is payable by coin, bills, or credit cards.

Wannalancit Visitors

Reserved visitor parking is available in the Tremont Visitor Lot off of Suffolk Street. Visitors or hosts of visitors may reserve parking by e-mail request to UCAPS@uml.edu or by calling 978-934-2800. Please provide us the visitor's name or company, arrival time, and departure time.

Please note that at this time reservations can only be made for arrivals prior to 11:30 a.m., and that any available spaces after this time are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Large Event Parking

Large events should coordinate with Special Events to arrange for parking. Events during the day (prior to 4 p.m.) often require parking in alternate parking locations and visitors may use transportation.

Events occurring after 4 p.m. do not need to make arrangements and visitors are welcome to park in any of the open lots across campus without a permit.

Residential Visitors

The university does not have designated parking spaces available for those visiting residential students. If you are visiting a residence hall you must be let into a parking lot by your host (student living on campus) in a lot they have access to. River Hawk Village and Townhouses visitors must use the East garage, entering via gate intercom. No permit is required between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 a.m., or any time on weekends.

If you are parking between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays a day pass must be purchased for $8 from the UCAPS Office located in University Crossing, 220 Pawtucket Street, or metered parking must be used (2 hours maximum). Please bring your vehicle registration when visiting the UCAPS Office.
