Graduate Certificate Programs

The department offers the Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. It is designed for those who want to accomplish graduate-level work but can't commit to a full master's degree. The certificate requires the satisfactory completion of four courses which may subsequently be applied towards the master's degree.

    • Submit an online application
    • Undergraduate degree in mathematics or a related discipline such as computer science, physics, or engineering
    • Applicants must demonstrate courses taken or competency in the following subjects:
      • Calculus
      • Discrete Mathematics
      • Linear Algebra
    • Official transcript from previously earned degrees
    • 2 letters of recommendation
    • Statement of purpose
    • $50 application fee

    International Applicants

    • For applicants who earned their degree outside of the US, you do not need to have your transcript evaluated by a credentialing service such as WES or CED.
    • English proficiency testing
      • TOEFL minimum 79
      • IELTS minimum 6.5

  • UMass Lowell undergraduate students with a 3.000 GPA or better have the opportunity to save time and money by earning a bachelor's and a master's degree in a little as five years. Students can continue from bachelor’s to master’s level studies within their own department. Or students can apply to a program in a different department to create a set of skills to meet emerging needs in the workplace and their own academic interests.
