Safe Home Care conducted qualitative and quantitative assessments of a broad range of occupational safety and health conditions as well as good practices among home care aides in Massachusetts.  Specific strategies included focus groups with Massachusetts home care aides; in-depth interviews with agency managers, home care clients, and other industry stakeholders; use of an industry-based questionnaire survey; and development of a pilot program of educational materials on cleaning for clients with asthma and allergies as well as other resources.   Safe Home Care also followed up on the earlier findings related to sharps injuries to develop a systematic schema for all the ways that sharps enter and leave homes, and identify the possible intervention points for safer practices.
