Pre-Arrival Information for newly accepted students

Welcome to UMass Lowell! The staff at the ISSO are very much looking forward to meeting and working with you upon your arrival on campus.

The virtual tour is a great way to get to know the campus before arriving to the U.S.

You are encouraged to read through the following guides PRIOR to your arrival. It is very helpful for incoming students making the transition from home to the United States.

All new international students are expected to check-in at one Immigration Clearance Session.

The Immigration Clearance is intended for you to meet the ISSO staff, and for us to ensure you are physically here on campus. This is a MANDATORY session that all new international students for Spring 2018 are required to attend.

Fall 2018 Immigration Clearance Session


Students are only required to attend ONE of the above Immigration Clearance dates. Those who attend the first session will have a chance to win a $50 UMass Lowell Gift Certificate. Student should arrive on time. Anyone late to the session will be asked to return during our final session. Failure to attend one of the Immigration Clearance sessions may end in termination of visa status.

All new students are encouraged to attend the International Student Resource Fair featuring on-campus departments, local banks and cell phone representatives to answer any questions!
