Dr. Hansen joined the Mechanical Engineering faculty in Fall 2011. His previous research efforts include 3D viscoelasticfilament micropatterning and synthetic microvasculature for self-healing and thermal regulation applications. He conducts experimental work in the areas of damage remediation using self-healing materials, processing of multifunctional and composite materials, and the creation and use of synthetic microvascular networks. In the classroom, he instructs the undergraduate Mechanical Behavior of Materials and Strength of Materials courses and the graduate Composite Materials and Processing of Composites courses.
