Graduates Needing Assistance


Graduates anticipating they will need special assistance during Commencement need to contact the Disability Services at or call 978-934-4574 by May 17 at 5 p.m.

Staff from the Student Disability Services office and other areas of the Wellness Center will be available throughout the graduate seating area on the Tsongas Center floor to assist students as needed during Commencement ceremonies.
Graduates must arrive at the Tsongas Center by 8:15 a.m. for the morning ceremony doors and 1:45 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony.   Please be advised that any UML staff member working at Commencement will be able to help you locate a Disability Services staff member should you need assistance.

If you require Handicap Parking, or have a need to park in close proximity to the Tsongas, plan to arrive early as the adjacent Ayotte Garage fills up quickly. Please be advised if you arrive early that you may be required to wait outside until the doors open for your ceremony.

Family members are not allowed to enter before 8 a.m. for the morning session or before 1:45 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony.  Please make sure that you have given them their tickets before you enter the Tsongas Center. All spectators must have a ticket.

Assistance for guests who may need help in getting to their seats will be provided by the staff at the Tsongas Center.  You will find information in the For Families section of the website or you can contact the Tsongas Center directly at 978-934-5760 for more information.
