Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
UMass Lowell maintains Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in every major building and at other high-traffic locations across campus.
Throughout the year, UMass Lowell Emergency Medical Services (EMS), in partnership with the Office of Life Safety and Emergency Management, inspects and tests each campus AED to ensure it is operational and ready for use during an emergency.

Bleeding Control Kits
Every AED cabinet on campus is also equipped with a bleeding control kit as part of UMass Lowell’s Stop the Bleed program. These kits contain life-saving supplies, including tourniquets, gauze, gloves, trauma shears, bandages, and hypothermia blankets.
UMass Lowell also maintains larger bleeding control cabinets at several high-profile locations across campus.
First Aid Kits
The Office of Life Safety and Emergency Management does not stock or maintain general first aid kits on campus. Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should contact Campus Dispatch at 4-4911.
Departments may purchase, stock, and maintain their own first aid kits based on their operational needs.
