• Why can't I see the survey, or the link that students need?

Students get their own personalized links directly from the system via email. Do not share your personal link to the survey with students—it will not work for them. If you want to provide a reminder or ask your students to complete the survey during class time, please direct students to the Student Feedback on Instruction page. Also, see our instructions on how to conduct your survey in class!

How can I see my results?

You can log in to view results for current or past surveys on the Anthology Course Evaluations portal. Log in to the Student Feedback on Instruction page using your UMass Lowell email credentials. Watch for the survey results email from sfi@uml.edu - no more waiting for hard copies! We have provided some instructions to help you navigate to your results: please visit our Results and Reports page.

When will I see my results?

Results are available approximately two weeks after the close of the survey.

  • How do I complete a survey?

Students receive an email notification when SFI surveys open. Your faculty might ask you to complete the survey during class; otherwise you can complete the survey at any time. SFI is mobile-friendly; you can use a smartphone or computer to complete surveys.

Students can find links to the SFI survey(s):

    • Email: Students receive an email when SFI surveys open from UMass Lowell Surveys <no-reply@courseval.net>. Reminders continue until the survey has been completed or every 4th day with a final reminder on the day the survey closes. The email contains a login and students can access with SFI campus credentials. Faculty should not provide their email link to students; email links are exclusive to individuals.

Why didn't I get a survey for my class?

At UMass Lowell, not all faculty are required to survey every eligible course.

I missed the survey, can I still participate?

No. You must complete your survey during the survey window! Please watch for emails from sfi@uml.edu, which include the deadline for responding to surveys.

Will faculty know my responses are from me?

Student responses are anonymous. Please give constructive feedback! Faculty will never be able to connect individual students or their identifying information to feedback or comments, and survey results are provided to faculty two weeks after the survey closes.

Can I change my responses after I've submitted a survey?

You cannot change a completed survey. When responding, please double-check the faculty and course names before providing feedback!

What other ways can I provide feedback on instruction?

If you feel comfortable doing so, you could email or speak with your professor about your learning experience. If you have important feedback, but are not comfortable sharing it directly, you may email the chairperson of the department that offers the course.
