A national survey of 1,000 likely voters by UMass Lowell and YouGov between Oct. 2 and 4, ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, had a margin of error of 3.84%.

Key Findings:

  • Asked who they’ll support in local races for Congress, 52% of those surveyed said they’ll support the Democratic candidate while 43% will vote Republican.
  • Nearly two-thirds of likely voters say higher energy prices are mainly driven by the Iran war (64%) or tariffs (9%), while overall opposition to the war remains high.
  • Views of President Donald Trump’s job performance (39% approval) and the state of the country (64% on the wrong track) are virtually unchanged from a similar poll conducted in March.
