Apply to join UMass Lowell’s delegation to the United Nations Climate Conference in Antalya, Türkiye
UMass Lowell is an official ‘Observer Organization’ to the United Nations (UN) climate negotiations and sends a delegation to the UN climate negotiations and conference, or ‘Conference of Parties’ (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The 31st Conference of Parties, ‘COP31,’ will be held in November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye. COP31 promises to be an exciting event that brings together policymakers, scientists, innovators, educators, advocates and the media from around the world.
The Climate Change Initiative and Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy are excited to send a small group of faculty members and students to COP31 to represent UMass Lowell at this major international conference and negotiations focused on climate action.
Financial Support
Financial support will be available for a minimum of two student attendees. Faculty and staff are expected to cover expenses to attend, including transportation, accommodations and food. These vary by location and faculty and staff are expected to do due diligence in this regard before applying. Faculty and staff are encouraged to seek financial support from their department, college or external funding as appropriate.
