Meghana Gunturi is a junior in high school, studying under her school’s STEM Magnet and International Baccalaureate Program. Beyond her academic pursuits, she has a strong passion and desire to help her community. Seeing the discrimination and bullying against special needs individuals in her community and family, she took it upon herself to advocate for neurodiversity with her nonprofit, Neurodiversity Horizons. With her nonprofit advocacy work, she has collaborated with colleges, schools, clubs, youth shelters, and more to bring anti-bullying campaigns and awareness to adolescents. Neurodiversity Horizons has now grown to a board of 20+ individuals, as well as 20+ international chapters in 8 countries. Additionally, she runs a social media campaign to advocate for neurodiversity, which has made 10,000+ impressions. Her advocacy efforts led to her being invited to speak at the Stanford Neurodiversity Summit, on the importance of social media in advocacy. Additionally, she was one of the top 60 high school advocates selected globally for the Stanford Neurodiversity Project, where she studied neurodiversity advocacy amongst like-minded peers. Her desire to help neurodiverse populations sparked a life-long passion in entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, community service, and advocacy. Being the president of 3 school clubs, she consistently takes new steps to fuel her passion of helping people. She hopes to inspire young nonprofit leaders, and be the change people want to see in the world.
