Jose is a Systems and Data Analyst with over 15 years of experience in Information Technology, and International Student Administration and Compliance; his undergraduate and graduate education are in Management Information Systems. He has been married to Susana for 14 years and has 2 daughters Bianca and Emma, and very recently a puppy; the family currently resides in Lowell and both girls attend LCCPS in 4th and 1st grade. Jose learned about his daughter's Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis when she was 3 years old, Bianca is now 9 and remotely attending the 4th grade. ASD is a vivid and active part of the family dynamic, Bianca was non verbal until she was 6 years old, and still struggles with speech, maladaptive behaviors, and regresses to shouting when unable to express disapproval or discomfort. Jose is actively involved in Lowell's SPED Pack, Family Advisory Council, LCCPS PTO, and participates often at a support group for parents in ASD facilitated through CARE and a community partner. Jose and his family are advocates for ASD, and all mental disabilities, helping the community to understand that disabilities go beyond what the eye is able to see.
