Biosketch

Yi Yang is an associate professor in entrepreneurship and strategic management and the Ph.D. program director at the Manning School of Business. Since joining the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2006, she helped develop entrepreneurship programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, she is teaching Entrepreneurship courses for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students at UMass Lowell. In 2013, she was the recipient of teaching excellence reward. She received grants from UMass Lowell and the Department of Energy in support of teaching in the area of entrepreneurship.

Her research interests include corporate venturing and entrepreneurship, organizational learning, technology management and decision-making process. She has published her research in academic journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Management, Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and Strategic Management Journal. She has received several grants as PI or Co-PI from UMass Lowell, the UMass System and the Chinese National Science Foundation for research in the areas of both entrepreneurship and strategic management. She is a member of several professional associations such as Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society.
