WHAT: NBC and MSNBC National Political Correspondent Steve Kornacki will discuss the impact of the 2018 midterm elections at a free event for the public and campus presented by the UMass Lowell Center for Public Opinion.
Kornacki will also share insights from his new book, “The Red and the Blue: The 1990s and the Birth of Political Tribalism,” which Audible has named its best audiobook of the year in the politics category. The print edition of the book will be available for purchase and Kornacki will sign copies.
Kornacki is a Groton native who took dual-enrollment classes at UMass Lowell as a high-school student. Since then, he has built a career in covering politics that has included serving as politics editor for Salon, covering Congress for Roll Call and contributing to the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, New York Post and others. At NBC and MSNBC, Kornacki is a national political correspondent, providing analysis to “Today” and other shows. Kornacki spoke at UMass Lowell’s 2017 commencement where he was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters.
