MEDIA ADVISORY
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.
WHAT: UMass Lowell’s Fall Career Fair will introduce 200 employers to more than 1,200 students looking for full-time jobs after graduation and seeking real-world experience through internships and co-op positions.
Representatives of businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations – including Kronos Inc., the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Bridge of Central Massachusetts, among dozens of others – will meet with UMass Lowell students from all majors who want to bring their education, experience and enthusiasm to open positions.
Recruiters – many of whom are alumni returning to campus to fill full-time, co-op and internship opportunities – will be available to talk about the value of UMass Lowell-educated employees. Students will be available to discuss their objectives in participating in the career fair. Note: The event is not open to the public, but members of the media are invited to cover it.
The event is just one way the UMass Lowell Career and Co-op Center helps students begin their professional lives with confidence. Ninety-five percent of UMass Lowell bachelor’s degree recipients are either employed full time or pursuing a graduate degree less than a year after earning their diplomas. UMass Lowell tops all New England public research universities for graduates’ starting and mid-career salaries, according to PayScale.com, which also ranks UMass Lowell in the top No. 25 in the nation in both categories.
WHERE: Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Lowell. Contact UMass Lowell media relations for directions and parking information.
