I’m pleased to share that following Governor Healey’s signing of the supplemental state budget, funding for the previously negotiated Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and Massachusetts Society of Professors (MSP)  salary increases is now in place. The Human Resources team is actively processing the adjustments, including retroactive pay for eligible employees in those bargaining units and for eligible non-unit employees as well.

The new salary rates will be reflected in the Aug. 29 pay advice. The retroactive pay for both the January 2025 (3.5%) and July 2025 (2.25%) increases will appear in the Sept. 12 pay advice.

While this long-awaited resolution is welcome news, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the broader context and the tremendous efforts underway across our campus.

As we move through the final weeks of summer, I hope each of you has had the chance to rest, recharge and spend time with family and friends. I also want to acknowledge the many faculty and staff who have been hard at work preparing for the start of the academic year — from recruiting and re-enrolling students, to maintaining our campus, securing research funding, developing fall courses, supporting student-athletes and raising scholarship support. Your efforts — across every division and department — do not go unnoticed.

I am grateful for your continued commitment, especially as we navigate ongoing challenges. We know many of you are doing more with less, and doing so with remarkable dedication to our students and our mission.

I hope to see many of you at Convocation on Sept. 2 and at the Faculty-Staff Town Hall on Oct. 8 (more details coming soon)!
